"About 5 years ago, I met Kris in a local restaurant on Madeline Island.  Living full time on Madeline Island you meet everyone who lives here eventually.  Our conversation quickly went to our mutual love of horses.  As a teenager, I owned quarter horses and showed some youth AQHA in my home state of Nebraska but horses had not been a part of my life for over 25 years

After a couple of conversations with Kris, she convinced me to come out and visit her facility and ride one of her horses  We went on a short trail ride.  It quickly became apparent that over the years I had lost all comfort with horses.  Also, I had little physical fitness to ride.  Being late in the summer, I did not follow up with any more riding that year.  During the course of the winter, I did a lot of thinking, talking with Kris and the following spring started taking weekly riding lessons with Kris.  It like was starting all over!!  I realized how little I truly knew about riding correctly.  I was thrilled to be learning new activity and working with horses again.  Kris was very patience to work with a beginning 50 year old woman.  Not always easy!  Within a couple of months, I decided I would like to make a commitment to continue with my development of riding and horsemanship skills. 

Kris provided an excellent opportunity to offer a lease of well trained 12 year old quarter horse gelding - TC.  This arrangement allowed me to ride in addition with my weekly lessons.  Needless to say I became very attached to TC and by December, 2006, Kris and I struck a deal for me to purchase him.  TC has been a great addition to my life.  I am not only an animal lover, but I enjoy this life long pursuit of learning to ride well.   Riding has also helped my level of fitness and continues to develop my stamina. 

I was very fortunate to meet Kris.  She is very passionate and committed to her profession as horse trainer, educator and stable barn owner.  She continues to develop and expand her expertise in equestrian and horsemanship skills for her professional growth.  And in turn, she is always willing to share her expertise with her students.  Kris is an excellent teacher with a wonderful teaching style which incorporates her patience, sense of humor, energy, kindness and honesty.  Her passion and love of horses shows in all that she does. 

Hippophile Farm is an excellent full service facility.  I have first class care for my horse, flexibility with training/tune-up for him with regular private lessons and clinics for me.  Living in remote beautiful northern Wisconsin, it is truly wonderful to have the quality facility of Hippophile Farm. "
